How Side of Fiction Works

Getting Started

The Side of Fiction workflow

Side of Fiction helps you keep your fiction project consistent, organized, and ARC-ready — without writing your book for you.

1) Create a Project

A project is your “book workspace.” Set Genre/Subgenre so tools and templates stay relevant.

2) Build your World Bible (optional but recommended)

Add Characters, Locations, and Glossary terms. This becomes your canon reference.

3) Add Manuscript content

Upload a DOCX or paste text. Side of Fiction creates a Manuscript Version and splits it into Chapters.

4) Run Canon Scan + Verification

  • Canon finds candidate names/terms and suggests types (Character/Location/Glossary).
  • Verification checks consistency and continuity using deterministic rules.

5) Use Timeline

Timeline organizes scenes by POV, location, and time labels to spot continuity issues.

6) Run ARC (Advanced Reader Copies)

Create an ARC campaign, invite readers, and manage feedback — all inside the platform.

7) Publish your Author profile + Books

Turn on your public profile and publish books to get a shareable author page.
